The green and intoxicating aroma of the Chiribasa valley, hidden among the peaks of the Himalayas, a few kilometers from Gomukh – the sacred source of the Ganges River – intertwines with the wild spirit of the landscape, forming a green, spicy composition, enveloped in incense and with a deep evocative force.
ATMAYATRA, a word composed of two Sanskrit terms, Atma (soul) and Yatra (pilgrimage), invokes an inner pilgrimage, a journey of the soul. It is not a comfortable or easy to grasp olfactory experience, but a disturbing and memorable one.
The green, royal notes of holy basil, Tulsi and cannabis – plants that grow freely in the expanses of northern India – mix with the moist and dense smell of the Ganges River and the cool breath of a mountain rain. As the fragrance evolves, a Himalayan glacial storm breaks out that electrifies this fabric of aromatic accords, previously warmed by the sun.
It is said that Babaji still lives in those places today, a legendary, centenarian Sadhu, who is believed to possess the power of immortality and guards the secrets of ancient Vedic science.
