Vetiveryl acetate can be described as a hybrid, partly natural and partly synthetic molecule. It is made from a fraction of vetiver oil distilled from the roots of an Indian herb, then combined with acetic acid to remove the bitter and skinny notes of the root.
Escentric 03 emphasizes Vetiveryl Acetate in a formula that pays homage to the three roots used in perfumery: vetiver, ginger and iris, extracted from the roots of the Florentine iris. "We wanted Escentric 03 to bring out the olfactory impressions of these roots," says Geza Schoen, "and show how they blend harmoniously with each other."
Ginger dominates the top note, being vibrant, green and spicy, accompanied by lemon zest and green pepper. The heart is rich and velvety, with notes of jasmine from Egypt and tea. Drying highlights the dark green wood of vetiver, combined with sandalwood, cedar, soft balms and musk.
