Description
The scent of a dreamlike reality - Ganymede. An enigmatic word, a perfume name that "opens up" to imaginary worlds. The notes "transcribed" in scented paths describe the inspirations of two creative minds, perfumer Quentin Bisch and designer Marc-Antoine Barrois. This fragrance was named the winner of the FragRANCE Foundation Parfum Extraordinaire in 2020.
Creating an elegant and surprising harmony around a quartet of tangerines, violets, immortelle and suede, the two partners dreamed of this new "planet": Ganymede, Jupiter's rocky moon, discovered in 1610 by Galileo, as bright as the water of the oceans. acquired its name from Greek mythology: a young man, Ganymede, was kidnapped by the gods who were so enthusiastic about his beauty that he was offered immortality.
Composed by perfumer Quentin Bisch, Ganymede once again uses the leather notes that have turned B683 into a "beautiful classic". This time the artists have gone beyond the traditional codes to seduce our sense of smell with a fluid elegance. The leather notes become delicate, gentle in contact with the scent of violets. The tangerine aroma brings liveliness and an acidic essence to the composition. The latter sets the tone and verticality of the perfume from the beginning. However, the touches of immortelle represent a harmonious contrast to all the other notes, through its double aroma, sometimes mineral, sometimes salty.
The entire composition represents the play of contrasts and oppositions. The notes "respond" to each other in a permanent conversation, drawing a new olfactory map on the skin, on a cashmere jacket or right there, on the wrist, near the buttons of the sleeves. If it could be summarized in a single image, it would be a compass: to the north for the futility of the mandarin, to which the southern part would respond to highlight this olfactory setting through the notes of immortelle, and the east would balance the subtle and delicate tonality of violet. The density of the leather notes would be restored, instead, in the west. These are the four directions for a fragrant journey into a new imaginary world and new codes of elegance.
