Description
Cuir Andalou is a warm and spicy fragrance, built around the central note of leather, harmoniously intertwined with sandalwood and oud, but also with floral accents of rose, iris and patchouli. The result is an elegant and refined composition, which captures the strength of the raw matter tamed by the Andalusian grace.
A personal journey
Cuir Andalou was born from my passion for leather notes. For me, leather evokes both the harsh and authentic energy of tanneries and the refinement of luxury craftsmanship. This unique duality – strength and sophistication – remains an endless source of inspiration in perfumery. When I created Cuir Andalou, I was inspired by the history of the leather trade in Andalusia, a region marked by Arab influence and a high cultural life, where science, music and art flourished with remarkable grace. This is the essence I wanted to capture: a warm and textured skin, sweetened by Andalusian elegance. At the same time, the fragrance carries a floral hue that evokes the cool evenings of Andalusia, when the night air is impregnated with delicate aromas, creating a soothing and mysterious atmosphere. For me, Cuir Andalou perfectly captures the essence of a strong skin, tamed by warm refinement. – Rania Jouaneh
Leather, as a raw material
Leather is a timeless note in perfumery, appreciated for its strength and persistence. Although real leather is not used directly, perfumers recreate its scent through a blend of natural and synthetic ingredients, such as styrax or cedar. This leather accord, often associated with woody, smoky or even floral shades, gives perfumes a dry and sensual character. Over time, this distinct accord has won the admiration of niche perfumery enthusiasts, those looking for bold and authentic creations. When accompanied by precious oud wood or smoky and floral accents, the leather accord becomes the heart of deep and exclusive compositions.
